So here’s the inside scoop:
Dr. Katy Rosen grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. She is the oldest of 5 siblings and grew up in a family of healthcare professionals. After attending University of Pittsburgh, where she received a degree in German studies, she attending dental school at UCLA, where she met her husband, Amir. She completed her pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, which is one of the top 10 children’s hospitals in the United States. Upon graduation from residency, Dr. Rosen moved to the Bay Area to join her husband and have lived and practiced in San Francisco, San Jose, and surrounding areas since. They now call Los Gatos home and have a son, Oliver, who is the light of their lives!
I became a dentist because: My dad is a pediatric dentist and I would work in his office during the summers of my high school years. Seeing my dad’s passion for his career and the joys that come from working with children, I decided at the end of high school that I wanted to become a pediatric dentist.
I love my community because: This area has a lot of diversity, innovation, many fun things to do and see, great food, and great weather!
I chose to work with children because: Kids are so honest, full of positive energy, and fun to work with! It is always so refreshing to see the world through their eyes. One of my favorite things about being a pediatric dentist is that we have the privilege of promoting good oral hygiene practices and making dental visits a positive experience for our patients at a very young age. We hope that starting healthy habits early will lead to a lifetime of good oral health.
