Dr. Julia Ichikawa is no stranger to the field of dentistry. The 3rd generation dentist comes from a long line of family dentists dating back to her two grandfathers. She’s also no stranger to working with kids which makes her a perfect fit to work at Kids Care. As the fifth child of six siblings, she is part of an enormous family that includes 23 nieces and nephews! Dr. Ichikawa and her husband have one baby girl of their own, who keeps them busy. Coming from a highly educated background, Dr. Ichikawa loves putting emphasis on early education and prevention with her patients.
Dr. Julia Ichikawa grew up in Milwaukee, WI and moved to California for college at the University of San Diego before attending dental school at UCLA. After completing a one year general practice residency in Los Angeles, she moved to Chico, CA where she worked in a community clinic for five years, before relocating to Sacramento, CA.
I chose to work with children because: Kids are full of wonder. I’m continually amazed by their thoughtful words and sweet actions. It’s fun watching them grow up too!
My hobbies include: Playing with my daughter, walking and hiking, coffee, spinning classes, baking, listening to podcasts, and watching sports.
If I wasn’t a dentist, I’d probably be: A grade school grammar teacher.
